Located on the eastern side of town, Sant Martí is the second most populated district in Barcelona. While it is more famous for his numerous shopping malls than it is for its restaurants, the fact is that it is home to some of the best gastronomical experiences in town.

Santutxo
With a cozy atmosphere and a great respect for the traditions of Mediterranean cuisine, Santutxo is a treasure of a restaurant and a truly enchanting experience for anyone, local or foreign. Whether you choose to eat inside or on the beautiful little patio behind the building, you’ll be sure to be treated with the utmost attention by the kind staff, who always go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. Amongst the many inviting dishes on its menu, our recommendation has to go to the simply superb mushroom carpaccio with three cheeses. Address: Carrer de Provença, 571.

Hitit
Hitit is a Turkish restaurant in Sant Martí that could as easily be in Istanbul. Forget the westernized versions of Turkish food you can easily find in so many other places – here you get the real thing. From the amazing salads to the manually-made döner, the food is full of flavour and seems to carry with it the culture and traditions that it is a part of. Whatever you choose for your main dish – you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu – don’t forget to ask the friendly staff for the künefe, a traditional Turkish dessert so delicious that we really can’t describe it in words. The prices are quite reasonable as well, so it’s definitely worth a visit. Address: Rambla del Poblenou, 103.
La Barca del Salamanca
Located at the Port Olímpic, on a pier by the ocean, La Barca is the place to go in Sant Martí for some of the best seafood in Barcelona. Although the restaurant has several different inside rooms, eating at its seaside terrace enhances the experience tremendously – and is a really great idea for a date night. When it’s time to order, we recommend the traditional seafood paella, which is always best when accompanied by the delicious house sangria. Address: Moll del Gregal, 13
