The Museu Agbar de les Aigües or the Agbar Water Museum is a venue which aims to promote knowledge about water, introducing it to the public in a fun and didatic way.
They have a permanent exhibit which is showcased in a modernist building designed by architect Josep Amargós i Samaranch. Visitors will get to see the inside of the three main rooms in which the machines that produce energy to pump the water to every building in the city are displayed. Visitors will also learn about the history of Barcelona’s water supply and learn about the physical and chemical proprities of water.
The museum also often receives temporary exhibits of a photographic, scientfic or technological nature, all of them relating to the world of water.
The museum also organizes a variety of activities for families, schools, seniors, and professionals, which allow people of all ages to get to know more about water and all that it has to offer.
The Agbar Water Museum has received a number of awards throughout the years, such as the Premio Bonaplata, in 2006, for their educational project, the Galardón Turismo Cataluña, in 2008, for helping bring more tourism into the city, and the Premio Micheletti, in 2011, for excelency in the museum category.

The price of admission for the Agbar Water Museum is of 4€ per person for adults, and 2€ for seniors, students, unemployed people, Carnet Joven holders, and families. Kids under seven years old can visit for free. If you are visiting the museum with a group, contact them directly to enquire about their group prices. The museum can be visited for free every first Sunday of the month.

The museum has different working hours depending on the time of the year. From the 15th of June to the 15th of September the museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm. The rest of the year, the museum closes at 6 pm. The museum is also open on Sundays and holidays, from 10 am to 2 pm. The museum closes its doors on Mondays and during the month of August.
The Agbar Water Museum is located at Carretera de Sant Boi, 4-6, at Cornellá de Llobregat. Visitors can easily get there by car or by taking public transportation. The blue line of the metro (L5) will take you to Cornellà Centre. You can also take buses 67, 68, L74, L75, L82, and L85, or take the FGC train L8 to Cornellà Riera.
