Have you ever heard of wakeboarding? WakeskatingWakeboarding is a surface water sport, which involves being bound to a wakeboard and riding it over the water. Wakeskating, on the other hand, is a declination of wakeboarding but much more challenging: you may have to ride bound-free and barefoot on the board, which is covered with grip tape! When the rider is not towed behind a motorboat, he holds on to a cable.

Barcelona Cable Park is in the sea but it is protected from high waves by Parc del Forum’s breakwaters. This is a closed-course cable system. Therefore, you will enjoy this fun activity for a better price than towed by a boat. You can still experience the speed when riding on kickers: a perfect start for beginners and enjoyable training spot for pros! ShBarcelona will tell you all about it!

The Barcelona cable ski park founded in 2011; it remains open all year round. It is located just north of Barcelona’s beaches, two steps away from Parc del Forum. Both Javito, Frank or Ricard would be happy to welcome you and train you at their favorite spot! You can book either the Beginner Cable of 130 meters long or the Expert Cable of 160 meters. Either way, you will be taught how to practice and perfect with professional instructors! Barcelona Cable Park is a two-tower system: one towrope goes back and forth on the same cable route. This is the best way to learn and practice. The trick is to let you go into the water, almost sinking down, and then be pulled up again. Thanks to the two kickers and an up-rail you can also practice jumps.

The BCP Wakepark rates

Barcelona Cable Park is the cheapest park in Cataluña! The minimum fare for beginners is 30€ for 30 minutes on either the beginner or expert cable. This rate includes the material. For 50€, you rent a wakeboard or wakeskate for yourself or to share with friends during 1 hour. If you want to train or just have fun on a regular basis, you can buy a personal and nontransferable bound of five, ten or fifteen hours, to use whenever you like during the year. Your own material will be then stored on the premises.

If you are spending a season or a few weeks in this Catalan city staying in one of our rental apartmentsyou may have something to celebrate! During summer time, Javito, Frank or Ricard will host your birthday, event or celebration at the Wake school and even cook huge paella for you and your friends! An original way to celebrate and exercise at the same time!

  • Hello, Mae-Lise De Sousa! I read your article and stayed very impressed. There is definitely something to learn about Wakeboard. I want to ask you which model can be used for beginners in this challenge. Thanks!

    • Hello Briana,
You'd have to ask the facilities, since I have no experience with it myself.
Their email address is at the end of the blog article.
      Regards,

  • Hello, Daniella! Thanks for your reply! I happened to find this kind of board https://awakeboards.com/. I would like to ask you, before surfing with Wakeboard, is it better not to surf an electric surfboard? I will be grateful for your advice!

    • Hello again Briana,
Please check with Barcelona Cable Park. I wouldn't want to give you wrong advice ;-)
      Regards,
      Daniella
