Barcelona Eat Local Food Tours was created by a couple of expats who have a deep knowledge and passion for food. Marina has a knack for choosing the absolute best ingredients while Andre excels in cooking. Together they created a company that takes visitors on tours of the Sant Antoni and Poble Sec neighborhoods, to introduce them to each of these areas’ unique gastronomic scene.
The tour guides will take visitors to five family-owned gastronomic venues, where they will be able to try a variety of tapas and have a glass of cava or vermouth. These venues include market stalls and highly regarded restaurants which offer delicious samples of the famous Mediterranean cuisine, always prepared with locally sourced ingredients and fresh products.
Despite the prominence of the word “food” on the name of the company, the tours are not solely focused on eating. While walking on the streets of Sant Antoni and Poble Sec, the tour guides will share historical information about the neighborhoods, its landmarks, and its gorgeous architecture.
The Sant Antoni & Poble Sec Food Tour lasts about three hours and a half, starting at the Sant Antoni metro station located next to the local market.
The price of the tour is of 70€ for adults, 50€ for teenagers between 13 and 16 years old, and 30€ for children from 5 to 12 years old.
The tours start at 11:45 am and they take place no matter what the weather is like, so make sure to check the forecast online before going and dress appropriately.
