Barcelona has a lot to offer its visitors, so much so that it can sometimes be hard to know what to experience if you only have a limited amount of time to be in the city. If you want to save some time and combine a gastronomic and historic exploration of the city, there is a tour company in Barcelona that can offer you just that.

Barcelona Eat Local Food Tours

Photo by Barcelona Eat Local Food Tours

Barcelona Eat Local Food Tours was created by a couple of expats who have a deep knowledge and passion for food. Marina has a knack for choosing the absolute best ingredients while Andre excels in cooking. Together they created a company that takes visitors on tours of the Sant Antoni and Poble Sec neighborhoods, to introduce them to each of these areas’ unique gastronomic scene.

What are the tours like?

The tour guides will take visitors to five family-owned gastronomic venues, where they will be able to try a variety of tapas and have a glass of cava or vermouth. These venues include market stalls and highly regarded restaurants which offer delicious samples of the famous Mediterranean cuisine, always prepared with locally sourced ingredients and fresh products.

Despite the prominence of the word “food” on the name of the company, the tours are not solely focused on eating. While walking on the streets of Sant Antoni and Poble Sec, the tour guides will share historical information about the neighborhoods, its landmarks, and its gorgeous architecture.
