Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium was originally created for the 1929 International Exposition, being later renovated for the 1992 Summer Olympics. Estado Olímpic Lluis Companys has been the stage for such sporting events like II Mediterranean Games, in 1955, the final between Real Madrid and Real Zaragoza in 2004’s Copa del Rey, the 20th European Athletics Championships in 2010, and the Heineken Cup match between Perpignan and Toulon in 2011.
