If you’ve fallen in love with the history and charm of the narrow streets in the gothic quarter during your stay in Barcelona, then you will love visiting the town of Girona. The city, which is located around 100 kilometres away from Barcelona, brands itself as a “city full of surprises”. And it’s certainly not an understatement! A wander around Girona’s Jewish quarter with its tiny cobblestone lanes and stairs leading up to the city’s old walls is a truly delightful way to spend your day. You may even feel like it’s a familiar scene, given that Girona has previously been one of the locations used for the filming of Game of Thrones. Girona’s Jewish Quarter is steeped in history and it’s well worth taking the time to visit places such as the Museum of Jewish History.
