The best bars and beach bars on Barcelona’s coast

The first beach bar ShBarcelona would like to recommend is Chiringuito Pez Vela, located on the ground floor of the magnificent Hotel W.
It has a terrace with spectacular views of the sea and Barceloneta, giving you the feeling that you are actually in a bay.
Enjoy a simple, but delicious kitchen, with fresh and good quality products. Rice dishes and salads are favourite, although the fish of the day and the beef chops prepared on a charcoal grill are also worth mentioning.
BeGay
Our next recommendation is BeGay, a bar on Mar Bella beach in the neighbourhood of Diagonal Mar i El Front Maritim del Poblenou. It is a gay-friendly bar, perfect for a day full of beach and fun in the sun.
They offer a varied menu of Mediterranean and international dishes, with refreshing mojitos and delicious milkshakes. You can sit comfortably in the shade on its terrace, or chill-out in a relaxing lounge area.
This place will suit anyone who feels like grabbing a bite to eat at a fancy beach bar, at only a few steps from the shore of one of the most famous beaches in the Catalan capital.

La Guingueta de l’Escribà

We would also like to suggest La Guingueta de l’Escribà in Poblenou. The menu at La Guingueta is very varied and pleasantly uncomplicated.
It consists of cold tapas, hot and cold sandwiches, salads and other interesting dishes, such as pizza, chicken wings, guacamole, Iberian ham or a Russian salad.
And as every popular dish is on the menu, anyone can find something they like, even at very affordable prices of around €15.
La Deliciosa
Our last suggestion is La Deliciosa. Its decoration is made from recycled materials, so every detail that catches your eye is unique.
La Deliciosa stands for fun and good food. You can enjoy refreshing cocktails while sunbathing, or taste some of the best tapas in Barceloneta.
They have experienced barmen and mixologists, who will prepare and serve the best (alcoholic) drinks, in order for you to enjoy a perfect day at the beach. This will certainly help you stay cool on Barcelona’s hot summer days.
You can also opt for delicious salads, excellent hamburgers and lovely tapas at La Deliciosa, and don’t forget the nachos, Spanish croquettes, patatas bravas, tortilla or Tzatziki (with hot pita bread).
