First of all there is San Sebastià Beach, the oldest beach in Barcelona. You will see that it is also one of the largest beaches on Barcelona’s coast, and it is home to a few important sports clubs in Barcelona.
Together with Bogatell Beach, Sant Sebastià Beach is actually one of the most popular beaches, and especially adults love it. There is a separated area for nudists, just like at Mar Bella Beach.

Next is Barceloneta Beach. This beach is nearest to the city centre, and it can be easily accessed by public transport. Some bus lines almost drop you off with your feet right in the sand, making it the favourite beach for many tourists and young people.
This beach has several sports and leisure facilities, such as volleyball courts, children’s play areas, a table tennis and fitness area and a biblio-playa or beach library. There are also lockers for your valuables, umbrellas, sun loungers and bicycles for rent, and you can use the public showers and toilets.

Our next beach is Somorrostro Beach. This beach has recently been renamed to pay tribute to the slums of Somorrostro, which were demolished for Franco’s visit to Barcelona in 1966, after having existed for over a hundred years.
Somorrostro Beach is also centrally located and well connected by public transport. Many young people and people from abroad prefer this beach. It has a fitness area, volleyball courts, showers and public toilets.

Sant Miquel Beach is named after the Church of Sant Miquel del Port, and it is a very small, but vibrant and very popular beach. This beach also has a separated nudist area, showers, washbasins and lifeguard towers.

Nova Mar Bella Beach is a more quiet beach with younger visitors, many of them are female or locals.

The last beach to discuss is Llevant Beach. You will find this beach next to Nova Mar Bella Beach, and as it is a little further away from the city centre, this is one of the more relaxed beaches in Barcelona.
