Granja Viader – www.granjaviader.cat: this family business located in a narrow street in the old town of Barcelona (Carrer d’en Xuclà) has a history of more than 130 years and opened its doors at the beginning of the century as a dairy. It is really in the city for being the “birthplace” of Cacaolat. It’s common to find queues of people trying to get a table to enjoy a hot chocolate with cream, some “melindros” and “churros”, and other delicacies to accompany a good coffee.

The Pallaresa – www.lapallaresa.com: is common that, at weekends and holidays, there are a lot of people waiting for a table to sit down at the door of this “granja” to taste one of their homemade cakes dipped in chocolate or hot coffee with a thick layer of froth. The iconic Petrixol street is where you will find this cozy “old-fashioned” café, coming from the well-known Portaferrisa street.
