Best cafes for writers in Barcelona

In Barcelona you can find inspiration and creativity on every street corner, from iconic modernist buildings to lively food markets and beautiful, scenic parks. Ateneu Barcelonés

The Ateneu Barcelonès is an association which promotes Catalan culture and hosts a variety of activities including lectures, debates, poetry readings, workshops and live concerts. It also houses one of the most important Private Civil Libraries in Catalonia. So you’ll never be short of inspiration in its café, especially as it is set in a beautiful garden which is a small, hidden haven amongst the busy city. Address: Carrer de la Canuda, 6

Café Salambó

With its narrow streets and bohemian atmosphere, Gràcia is the perfect setting for creative types such as writers and artists. And Café Salambó is no exception. It is known in the area as a meeting point for intellectuals with a cosy, informal atmosphere, great food and also a selection of different teas. Librería La Central

La Central has many bookshops across Barcelona as well as in Madrid and has a café located in Eixample on Carrer de Mallorca, close to La Rambla de Catalunya.
