Spanish culture is full of many musical influences, from Jota in the centre and north, to Gypsy and Flamenco in the south, innovative Classical artists such as Tomás Luis de Victoria, and styles such as Zarzuela . The country has deep roots in music, of which the Spanish are very proud, but they are also open to styles and influences from many other countries too. Brazilian music, in particular, has been gaining much popularity.
Over its 500 years of history, the music in Brazil has developed many of its own unique styles and rhythms. From Samba to Bossa nova, MPB, Sertanejo, Pagode, Tropicalia, the varying kinds of music there have gained interest from countries and cities all over the world. And Barcelona is no different. Bar Berimbau

I’ll start with the oldest. Located on Passeig del Born, Bar Berimbau is one for the more mature of customers. They have live bands who play lots of Bossa nova, as well as other Brazilian styles. The décor is simple yet cosy and welcoming, and they also have a great selection of spirits on offer.
Bar Ámbar
Bar Ámbar is Located on Carrer de Sant Pau in El Raval, and very proud of it too! They have pictures all over the walls which let you know just where you are. The place is also decorated with furniture from all over the world, and has a colourful vibe. It plays host to a much younger, more modern crowd. It’s party time in the evening, but they are open for relaxing in the afternoon also, and they play mainly Bossa nova, Funk and 70’s disco.

Discoteque Harlem Jazz Club

Located on Carrer de la Comtessa de Sobradiel, Discoteque Harlem Jazz Club, also has great Brazilian music. They do feature a lot of live bands playing Cuban, Flamenco, Tango, Blues and Gypsy Jazz, but they also have a great deal of Fusion and Brazilian-themed styled music. They have music on every night of the week and are open until 5am!
Bar Samba Brasil
Located on Carrer de Lepant, Bar Samba Brasil is a classy joint specializing in a large selection of Brazilian drinks. They stock a whole range of tropical fruit juices, plus mojitos, caipirinha and Brazilian beers. The prices are perhaps a little higher than some of the other venues, but well worth it. They play mainly Samba and other Latin music.
