Parking Apps with Cashless Payment

When you are parking your car, it can sometimes be a bit of a struggle going through your wallet to find some change to put in the parking metre. The experience gets worse when you are in a hurry and you cannot find the parking metre you should be paying at.

A big city is always stressful, and you don’t always have a lot of time when you are in the centre. That is where technology comes in, providing you with useful apps, that make life – and parking – a lot easier.

Today, this article by ShBarcelona will focus on parking apps that are convenient if you don’t have any cash on you.

Trust in technology when parking in Barcelona – online parking apps

ONaparcar

ONaparcar is an app developed by B:SM (Barcelona de Serveis Municipals) and Barcelona City Council, to pay for parking in Barcelona’s residential Zona Verde areas with the application.

With “ONaparcar residents” you no longer need physical items, such as the Zona Verde Tarjeta (card) or a ticket from the parking metre, to be able to park in your residential zone.

The app is free of charge, and it does not cost you anything extra, compared to prices at the parking metre.

With “ONaparcar residents” you can do the following:

  • you can extend your ticket from wherever you are
  • the app remembers the last position when you used the app to park your car
  • you can manage tickets and selected dates
  • you can check detailed information on rates and bonuses that have been applied

In addition to all these advantages, you can securely pay by bank card.

EasyPark

EasyPark is an app that can be used in many cities and also in Barcelona. Other European cities in the app are in countries like Italy, Spain, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Austria and Germany.

EasyPark has one big advantage, and that is that you can extend your parking time from your mobile phone. Not every app allows you to do this, making it really practical and convenient.

The app is available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Not only can you pay for the parking ticket on your mobile phone, you can also get a new ticket, extend your current ticket when the deadline approaches and manage fines.

The EasyPark app has a little extra called Parking Dashboard. This is a digital platform, allowing each user to manage parking related activities.

It provides parking operators and  Barcelona City Council with useful and real-time data on parking in the city.

The data management system then makes it possible to inventory free spaces, zoning within the city, fares, restrictions and even the average time spent searching for a parking spot.

WesmartPark

WesmartPark allows you to park your car both in Madrid and in Barcelona. You have more than 100 car parks to choose from, and more and more car parks are added during the year.

This parking app has an extra benefit, as parking places with WesmartPack are cheaper, which really makes it worthwhile.

The app is straightforward, as you only have to download and open the App, and it will show you the nearest car park.  And all of this at a reduced price of only €1.74/hour.

At this moment you can use the WesmartPark app in Spain, Chile, Argentina and Peru. Parking with the app will save you money, and at the same time parking places that are usually empty during the day will be filled again.
