There are a variety of nature-related activities one can take part in when visiting Barcelona, such as visiting the local Zoo or the Aquarium. But if you or your children are particularly interested in birds, consider paying a visit to Cim d’Àligues. The center is the home of a variety of birds of prey such as Aquila chrysaetos, Necrosyrtes monachus, and Geranoaetus melanoleucus.

Cim d’Àligues aims to educate people about these majestic birds, to instil in each of the visitors a sense of respect and admiration for nature. They achieve that by taking the visitors on guided tours of the center and informing them about the birds’ habits, nutrition, and behavior. This part of the visit usually takes about 30 minutes and it takes place next to the birds’ cages. But the most exciting part for the little ones is usually the flight demonstration session, which lasts a little longer.

Cim d’Àligues also plays an important part in the rehabilitation of injured birds. They try their best to educate visitors about the problems birds face in the modern world and what one should do when stumbling upon an injured bird. On top of that, they work the Conservation Foundation BVCF Black Vulture and have their own breeding center.
Adults pay 12€ per person to visit Cim d’Àligues, while children from 3 to 15 years old pay 9€. Children under 3 years old can enter for free.
