Where to Take Cooking Classes

Based off of my personal experience in this fantastic city so far, there is an abundance of options to choose from when it comes to bars, cafes, and restaurants. However, sometimes eating out can be overwhelming, not only on the stomach but the wallet as well.

If you would like to save money by eating in more often but don’t feel confident enough in the kitchen, take a look at this list featuring three of the best places to take cooking courses in the city.

Mescladis

Apart from the incredible portico and terrace restaurant space, Espai Mescladis offers cooking classes for both children and adults alike. On their page you can find the different options for courses, including an intercultural night. This night is particularly interesting because you can meet new people who are interested in sharing their cultural backgrounds and recipes. The workshop provides background information on the food that you will be preparing, appropriate times and events for the plates you will prepare and best of all, a dinner made by your very own hands!

The price ranges from 25 to 48 euro per class, but it is well worth the price, especially if you value local products and the KM0 approach to eating, as they buy local produce and even grow some of their own.

Address: Carrer dels Carders, 35

Sabores Taller de Cocina

Located in the beautiful neighborhood of Gracia, this is the ideal spot to get away from the downtown area and pick up a new trade to impress your friends. There are over 20 cooking workshops to browse through, from Catalan cuisine to rolling sushi, to creating food art with the molecular cooking course!

Prices start at 35 euros and up.

bcnKITCHEN – La Boquería

This is a personal favorite of mine because it includes not only the preparation of the dishes, but also the sometimes intimidating process of grocery shopping.  Sometimes it is difficult to know what is ripe, in prime season, how much to buy depending on the number of guests, etc.. They help you navigate your way around Barcelona’s most famous market, La Boqueria, and show you how to buy some of the best produce, meat and fish in the city.

The price is 65 euros for four hours, including wine, water, recipes, and of course, the 5 delicious Spanish dishes you have learned how to prepare. This unique company has a wide variety to offer, so look on their website if you’d rather learn how to cook something a little more exotic!

Address: Carrer de la Fusina, 15
