Cool shops in Raval

El Raval is a neighbourhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. It borders La Rambla, on the western side, and is home to many local and touristic establishments. The area was once known for being rife with prostitution and crime but it has undergone a massive gentrification. It is now much safer and is one of the most trendy parts of the city. So, it’s no surprise that here you can find great places to shop. Whether it’s clothes, food or gifts you are after, there are many interesting places to buy them. Dosmil2000

Dosmil2000 is a vintage electronic store located on Carrer de Valldonzella. They sell all kinds of antiques, from vinyls to cameras, musical instruments and stereos and much more. It’s a great little shop for those who like to find hidden treasures and once you’re inside it’s hard to leave. The prices are a bit on the high side, but all the goods are in great condition, especially for their age.

Flamingos Vintage Kilo

Flamingos Vintage Kilo is located on Carrer de Ferlandina, close to the museum of contemporary art. It is a retro clothing store, featuring mainly items of American fashion from the 80’s. They have a colourful array of jeans, jackets, shirts and dresses, plus many accessories. And the great thing about this place is that everything is charged by the kilo, so you can really grab yourself a bargain.

Holala!

Holala! is another vintage clothing store, located on Carrer de Valldonzella, not far from the Universitat metro station. It is a very large shop, jam-packed with trendy products from the 80’s and other eras. The decor is very artistic and fun, and the staff are all really, really friendly, helping you pick out the right choice of clothes to match your own unique style.

Wilde Store

Wilde Store is an eyewear shop, located on Carrer de Joaquín Costa. There is a vast selection of sunglasses on sale, all varying in style and price range. The thing that really makes this shop special though is the decor. It is laid out like a museum, drawing you back in time. Dim lights illuminate the various products on sale, in amongst glass cases of vintage items, which refract the light around the shop.

Les Topettes

Les Topettes is also located on Carrer de Joaquín Costa. It is a shop dedicated to the art of pampering. They sell a wide range of toiletries and cosmetics, with shelves full of perfumes, soaps and moisturisers. It really is a place to treat yourself. The staff really know their stuff, and can advise you on any product. The store’s contemporary vintage decor really makes a lasting impression.
