During your stay in Barcelona, no doubt sport will appear on the radar – if only to burn one or two churros’ off! The solution may well and truly come in the form of CrossFit, a Californian-born fitness movement which incorporates all the best trends in fitness today. In broad terms, you get a mix of weight training and high-intensity interval training (ideal to jumpstart that metabolism) that gives you a full body workout, as well as focused muscle work to tone various muscle groups. Think numerous reps in exchange for a lot of sweat.
Barcelona was quick to jump on the CrossFit bandwagon, and numerous gyms and specialized spaces now offer CrossFit classes. Here is ShBarcelona‘s round-up of the top places in Corts neighborhood.

Perhaps the most hardcore approach of our selection, CrossFit LCS offers a range of memberships to quench your CrossFit needs. Prices vary from €72 to €125 per month, depending on the time period you commit to the gym. The classes promise a different experience for each visit, ensuring you won’t get stuck in an exercise rut anytime soon.
This requires some commitment, of course, so why not try a drop-in session for €18?

As sleek a club as you can find, Club Metropolitan is the crème de la crème of the gyms of Barcelona. With more classes than you will be able to attend, this gym’s answer to CrosFit is CrossMet. Using the same principle (the clue is in the name of the class) this session focuses on cardio and resistance for a high-intensity class. Prepare to be sore after this one!
This is one of the priciest gyms around, and you will need a membership to attend the classes. If you sign up for a year, prices per month are around €60, which includes access to all the facilities.
