Cumbia is a native folklore sound and dance of the Caribbean Coast of Colombia which arises from the culture of the indigenous people in that region. It is very popular in other Latin American countries, each with its own variations. The dance features the back-break basic step and is danced in a circular pattern sometimes called the Columbian or Cumbia circle basic. Like most Latin dances, it is closely related to Swing (which explains why there are many common moves found in Cumbia and Swing). Learn and enjoy this dance by taking up classes in Barcelona!
