This non-profit company is dedicated to spreading information and knowledge about the history of design in Barcelona across different fields. When you look on their website you will see a map in which you can select different “design routes” across Barcelona that best suit your interests. As design can include many things like fashion, architecture, art, and beyond there are several routes to choose from that will show you the best of all these things. Some other routes include hotels, restaurants, and galleries. Most of the design routes will take you through the center of Barcelona to see various monuments and locations, but depending on the route you might head off the beaten path and explore corners of the city that are usually neglected by tourists. Along the way you will discover new and unique points of interest that you may have missed before.

Modernism walking tour

If you would like to see a tour of the modernist design in Barcelona regarding architecture then you should go on the Modernism walking tour. This tour will take you on a two-hour ramble through the city in which you will see works of some of the most famous architects in Barcelona, like Gaudí and Puig i Cadafalch. All of the buildings that you will encounter are from the modernist style and designed in the style that has come to become so recognizable and unique to Barcelona. You will have the chance to see many of the buildings that have helped to put Barcelona on the map as a leader in design and architecture. You must book your tour ahead of time and the tours are available in English, Spanish, Catalan, and French. The cost is €16 per person with a discounted rate for children, including entrance to the Modernism Museum so that you can learn more about the history behind the movement that helped to shape Barcelona.
