Parque Güell A large park with some of the most awe-inspiring views you’ll find in the city. Unfortunately, entrance isn’t free if you’re not a Barcelona resident (a general ticket costs 7€). Still, you’d be missing out if you came to the capital of Catalonia and didn’t take the opportunity to see one of Gaudí’s most wonderful works.

Speaking of the legendary modernist architect, Gràcia is also the place where you’ll find Casa Vicens, one of the seven works of Antoni Gaudí that together have been considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The first house ever designed by the Catalan pioneer, it is widely regarded as one of the first ever art nouveau buildings.

Plazas – There are many gorgeous plazas in Gràcia that we recommend you visit if you really want to feel the pulse of the city. In Plaça del Diamant, Plaça del Nord or Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia, you’ll find a dynamic and lively Barcelona, crowded with both locals and tourists and full of great bars, restaurants and shops.

Mercat de la LlibertatOne of the most beautiful markets in Barcelona, with its elaborately ornamented façade, Mercat de la Llibertat is another obligatory stop for anyone visiting Gràcia. There you can find a wide variety of food products, as well as flowers, plants and herbs.

Cines VerdiWith a total of 9 screens, Cines Verdi is one of only a few places in Barcelona where you can see international films in their original languages (the norm in Spain is to dub everything). Despite its large dimensions, it gives off the relaxed vibe of an independent cinema. Considered by many to be the best movie theatre in the city, it’s definitely the place to go if you feel like watching a flick while in Barcelona.

All of the above is just a soft introduction, as there is a lot more for you to discover in the neighbourhood of Gràcia. If you take a look around our blog, you’ll find many articles dedicated to the best this barrio has to offer, from art galleries to jam sessions, including restaurants, wine bars and even erotic massages – yes, Gràcia has everything you need to spend a good time in the capital of Catalonia.
