Entrepreneurs: “Eyewear from Barcelona,” a new concept of glasses

Alex Cabré is one of the examples of a successful entrepreneur thanks to an innovative idea that takes an already invented concept and with a broad market niche. This new company born with an investment of 150,000 euros and now expects revenues of 1.4 million in 2014 and has 14 employees. This concept of eyewear leverages the same concept as the American eyewear brand Click and incorporates its own innovations: a flexible single rod with double injection made of elastomeric material that doesn’t get deformed (they call this Slastik), which allows you to keep the glasses in a small case. The latter concept is used in pregraduated glasses as in sunglasses and glasses to do sports, very useful to practice any physical discipline.

Eyewear from Barcelona deals with the marketing of its products, but the manufacturing is offshored in China. The brand has begun to export their glasses recently to another 18 countries around the world, setting a goal: having an income of 5 million euros in 2017.

If you take a look at their website it is clear that their vocation is to export the optical concept “made in Barcelona” to the world, selling design, but also good materials, practicality, creativity and a wide variety of models from which you can choose. Anyone who is thinking about starting a business must consider how they will sell their idea, the timing and the market in which it will be born, and the financial investment, of course.
