Fun venues to visit with kids

La Casa dels Entremesos

Founded in the year of 1439 by Consell da la Ciutat, La Casa dels Entremesos is a center that promotes Catalan folk culture. This house was created with the objective of conserving the figures and puppets used in the fourteenth century for entertainment and even religious ceremonies. There are more than 50 full-size colorful figures and Titellespuppet shows that happen the second Saturday of each month.

La Casa dels Entremesos is located at Plaça de les Beates, number 2, in the Born neighborhood.

Lego Fun Factory

Lego Fun Factory is a play center that opened its doors in the beginning of 2014 at Diagonal Mar shopping center. A Lego Fun Factory, kids can play with Lego sets, play Lego video games and dive into the large Lego pools. The activities are monitored by the Lego Fun Factory staff, which means parents can leave their children playing while they do their shopping.

Lego Fun Factory is located at Diagonal Mar, which is located at Avenida Diagonal 3.

Toy stores

This may be the most obvious suggestion, but there are so many great toy stores in Barcelona, we simply have to mention them! Almacén Marabi (Carrer de Cicera, 6), for instance, is a wonderful store in Born that sells handmade rag dolls and patchwork figures. Then, there is Barruget (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 620), a toy store that offers educational toys for children from 0 to 14. At Fantastik (Calle Joaquín Costa, 62) you will find kitsch/vintage items like wind-up metal robots, Russian nesting dolls, wooden puzzles and rolly polly dolls. Palau (Ronda de Sant Antoni, 61; Travessera de Gràcia, 84, Carrer de Balmes, 72) specializes in miniature vehicles and other boy-oriented toys.

Plom Gallery

Plom Gallery is a gallery created by Martha Zimmerman who wants to engage children in the world of arts by, among other things, giving them the opportunity of becoming art owners. That is why each piece of art sold in the gallery comes with an ownership certificate that will feature the child’s name on it.

Plom Gallery is located at Carrer de Sèneca, 3.

Comic book paradise

If your child is a fan of anything related with comics, movies or television, they will love for a walk at Passeig Sant Joan! There you will find a variety of stores that sell miniature characters from their favorite cartoons, movies or shows, hundreds of comic books, board games, beach towels, hats, plush toys and a variety of other memorabilia. Try visiting Fantasy, Norma Comics, Kaburi Rol & Games, or Ninja.
