At the end of June, more specifically on June 28 and 29, 2019, the Gay Pride BCN 2019 will be held in Barcelona. PRIDE BCN is an event for everyone who wants to participate, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender. It is an event for the LGTBI community to show themselves and let themselves be heard. Diversity is celebrated and tolerance for all groups is the main objective, to stop further discrimination because of sexual orientation or gender. The Gay Pride 2019 message is this: “We have to love ourselves more, both on the inside and on the outside. Cherish being and thinking different from eachother. Respect one another. And love yourself more. Because love has a thousand shapes and a thousand colours. And many times love is the only thing we need. A little bit of love. A hug. A smile”. Beautiful, right? And besides that, it is completely true. Life is sometimes reduced to a couple of corny sayings, but that doesn’t make them less true: “Live and let live” and “All you need is love”. Barcelona has always been an open, respectful and diverse city, so does it need to change? It is time to show these feelings of openness more, to embrace all the people that love, and who may naturally expect to be loved in return as well. That’s why you have to be a part of this beautiful event: go out and enjoy yourself, let the whole world know that for two full days, Barcelona is love. And, just as they say: “No matter who your are, or where you are from: this is for you”.
