Horrorland’s pure terror

If you want to be made scared as hell, then go to horror park Horrorland, located in the town of Cercs in the Berguedà region, in the province of Barcelona. This is the first horror park in the south of Europe and this Halloween it has 11 attractions and many novelties.

From the 4th of October until the 16th of November you will be able to experience some of the most terrifying and disturbing events of your life, due to several interactive settings and escape rooms. Some of these activities really take it to a next level, like witnessing your own burial. This can only turn out to be a completely shocking experience.

PortAventura Park, mystery for all ages

Starting September 21, PortAventura will be in the spirit of Halloween, and it is a celebration where mystery and emotions rule the day. You can walk through dark passages, see how the characters of SésamoAventura celebrate Halloween, or taste creepy food that will send shivers through your bones.

(Scary) Surprises are guaranteed at PortAventura this Halloween! From September 21 to November 17, 2019, you will see that the park is transformed into a spooky environment, that is suitable for all ages.

A scary Poble Espanyol

From the 1st to the 3rd of November Poble Espanyol will be the most terrifying place in Barcelona… because it’s Halloween! Children and adults can walk through the streets of Poble Espanyol, which are decorated with terrifying objects, and you can enjoy several activities: a game of clues with monstrous tests, a scary costume competition, a fantastic pasaje del terror (an interactive walk-through attraction with live actors!), a marathon of scary stories… and lots of surprises!

You can also just relax and enjoy the delicious culinary offers by various food trucks, or stroll around and check out the little stalls at the Plaza. The square has many toys and there are stories for the little ones.

Dress up as a witch or a sorcerer, a zombie, demon, mummy, skeleton or your favourite horror character, and join the most creepy party of the year with your family and friends. It’s the perfect occasion to spend a spine-chilling time.

‘Little Shop of Horrors’, by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, is a work inspired by a B-movie by Roger Corman, and it premiered Off-Off Broadway and performed for five uninterrupted years on the New York billboards.

The production in Barcelona is directed by Àngel Llàcer and Manu Guix. Editing is faithful to its original script, although Skid Row’s special effects might have projected the plot towards a future ‘Blade Runner’.

A tunnel of terror in the middle of Barcelona

If you want to experience a night of true terror, then come to the neighbourhood of Trinitat Vella. On the night of October 31, 2019 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. you can enter the time tunnel Juego de Trinis.

A physicist has created a time machine that unfortunately has suffered a nuclear explosion. This event causes history to change, and as a result you will see shocking and monstrous faces of the characters. On the website of Guía de Barcelona you will find more information.

Horror short movies at Antic Theatre

Our last suggestion takes place in Ciutat Vella, and this is the X Festival of fantastic – but short – horror movies at Antic Theatre. The event is also known as The Antic Horror Picture Show. The Best Short Film Award and the Audience Award will be chosen from all entries.
