Located in Poblenou, Siamoqua is an underdog in Barcelona’s Italian restaurant business. The restaurant is fairly young, opening its doors to the public in 2014, but since then has made quite a name for itself, regularly being mentioned in blogs and travel magazines as one of the best restaurants in Poblenou. They have a fantastic menu featuring classic Italian dishes as well as some of their own creations. Their Pasta is homemade (try the Mezzelune al vino rosso) and they cook their pizzas in the traditional style with a wood-fired oven. Founded in 1974, Il Giardinetto is one of the most famous Italian restaurants in the city. The low-ceiling space is decorated with treelike columns, forrest-floor carpets, and teal banquettes. The unique atmosphere, along with the live piano performances and candle-lit tables, only enhances the Italian atmosfera romantica of the restaurant.
The menu includes classic dishes such as the shrimp and crab risotto and a spicy tuna tartare. However, if you want a true Il Giardinetto experience, try some of the chefs own creations such as the baked brie with tomato and apple marmalade or the Iberian egg roll.
