Top reasons why kids love Barcelona

From the city’s warm beaches to the abundance of shows and festivals taking place almost every month, there are plenty of reasons why kids love Barcelona.

Here are some of the top ones.

Amusement parks

Barcelona has the oldest amusement park in Europe, Parque de Atracciones Tibidabo (Plaza de Tibidabo, 3-4). It also has one most popular amusement parks/waker park in Spain, PortAventura (Avinguda de l’Alcalde Pere Molas, at Vila-Seca, Tarragona).

Awesome Museums

Gaudí, Picasso, Dalí are names that appeal more to adults than to children. Parents usually score more points by taking their kids to museums like Museu del Mamute, an archeological museum, Miba, an inventions museum, Museu de la Ciencia, a fantastic science museum, complete with a flooded forest, and Museo de Autómatas del Tibidabo, an automaton museum.

Water parks

There are a number of water parks in Barcelona and around, where kids can spend a day splashing around.

There is Aqualeon Water Park, at Finca Les Basses in Albinyana, Tarragona; Illa Fantasia at Finca Mas Brassó, in Vilassar de Dalt; and Marineland & Aqualand at Carretera Malgrat, at Palafolls.

Toy stores

There are incredible toy stores in Barcelona, where you can every type of toy! Kids love hopping from shop to shop, choosing their next action figure or furry friend. Almacén Marabi, Fantastik, and Barruget are definitely worth a visit.

Adventure

Kids have plenty of opportunities to embark on adventures in Barcelona.

Bosc Urbà is an adventure park located in the middle of the city, with ziplines, bungee jumping, and climbing nets.

Kids also love going to the Laberinto de la Horta park, which has a full-sized labyrinth they can get lost in.

Companies like Lifestyle Barcelona, Adventures Barcelona and Trip4real give children and adults the opportunity to participate in exhilarating activities like scuba diving, parasailing, and water jetting.

Another adventure activity that is trending in Barcelona is taking part in an Escape Game, mysteries that have to be solved by groups or families. Companies like Enigmik, Escape Barcelona, and Chicken Banana offer escape adventures in English and in Spanish.
