La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou is one of the ten barrios that make the district of Sant Martí, designed by architects Albert Puigdomènech, David Mackay, Oriol Bohigas and Josep Martorell.
This particular area was renovated and improved in order to receive the athletes of the Juegos Olímpicos de Barcelona in 1992.
Today, La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou exists mainly as a residential and educational area, where one of the three campuses of University Pompeu de Fabra is located.
There are a couple of points of interest in this barrio, mainly directed at sports and leisure.

Casino de Barcelona

Yelmo Icária is located at Calle Salvador Espriu, 61, inside El Centre de la Vila Port Olímpic mini mall.
Hotel Arts Barcelona
Built between the years of 1990 and 1992, Hotel Arts Barcelona is a luxury hotel designed by architect Bruce Graham. The hotel has 44 floors, 483 rooms, suites and apartments that offer gorgeous views of the city.
Hotel Arts Barcelona is located at Calle de la Marina, 19-21.
Peix/Fish
This stainless steel sculpture was designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry during the remodeling of the barrio for the Olympic Games. The sculpture is 56 meters long and 45 meters high, and can be found at the foot of Hotel Arts, just by the beach.
Touch Music Karaoke Bar
Touch Music Karaoke Bar has been in business for almost two decades and is today one of the most popular karaoke bars in Barcelona.
Touch Music Karaoke bar is located at Carrer Joan Miró, 8.
Port Olímpic
This square-shaped marina is the permanent or temporary home of many yachts and sailing boats. It is also a popular area for the practice of sports like parasailing, jet skiing, and scuba diving.
Passeig Marítim del Port Olímpic
The promenade by the Olimpic Port is a great place for a meal since it’s an area with a variety of restaurants. This area is particularly pleasant to visit during summer nights when you can take a peaceful stroll along the palm trees, or sit for a drink at one of the restaurant’s terraces.
