Where to Find Latin Food in Barcelona?

It is difficult to fathom the thought of becoming weary of the delicious traditional Spanish dishes. The truth is it is inevitable, especially if you’re from Latin America. Sometimes, you crave the simple taste of rice and beans with a taco, or an arepa. Where do you go in these times of need?

Here are some places that’ll make you feel like you’re back home eating your mom’s secret family recipe:

Mexican

La Rosa Negra is a Mexican restaurant located in Barrio Gotico at Via Laietana, 46. Their authentic Mexican dishes are what keep people coming back. This restaurant offers tacos, quesadillas, burritos, their most popular dish the enchiladas, and more. You’ll leave planning your next visit.

Lunch Specials: 9 Euros for 3 plates and a drink from 13:00 -16:30

Colombian

Panaderia Colombiana is a small bakery located right below the Colombian Consultant on Pau Claris, 102. They have the most authentic Colombian empanadas with spicy salsa I’ve had in the whole city. They also have Colombian famous pan de bono. I can picture the Colombian Consultant officials eating here every morning before work.

La Fonda Paisa is another well-known restaurant in Barcelona. They have two locations on Calle Russello 449 and Avenida Diagonal 332. This is one of the few Colombian restaurants that offers a famous Colombian dish called “La Vandeja Paisa”. La Vandeja Paisa is a dish that includes: steak, sausage, rice, beans, a fried egg, an arepa, soft plantains, avocado and chicharron (pork). Good luck finishing it all in one sitting.

Venezuelan

La Taguara Arepa is in el Barrio Born, Career Rec, 10. It’s most famous for its ham cachitos, stuffed arepas, pastelitos, and natural juices. Venezuelans are known for stuffing their arepas. You can stuff your arepas with anything from meat, chicken, eggs, cheese, to ham, plantains, and even avocado. It’s the perfect place to fulfill your arepa cravings.

Argentinian

You can find Negro Carbon in Barcelonetta, on Plaza del Palau 16. Argentine bar-b-que is said to be one of the best. At el Negro Carbon you can see why this is true. They offer burgers, steak, empanadas, delicious plantains with honey and sesame seeds on top, and more.

Lunch Specials: 11 euros for el menu del dia which includes drinks, bread, dessert or coffee.
