Barcelona is a city with lots of positive elements. Take for instance its amazing climate. Temperatures and the number of sun hours are ideal for a variety of activities, but they don’t all have to be outdoors, because there is plenty you can do indoors as well.

One thing people like about Barcelona is its impressive gastronomic offer, which includes seaside restaurants and cuisine from all over the world. Then there are restaurants that serve typical Catalan dishes and tapas bars for you to discover. You should at least try this once, when you are staying in your holiday accommodation in the city.

Restaurants near the beach and chiringuitos also attract many visitors, which is only logic because of the magnificent views you get of Barcelona’s beautiful beaches. The city also has a great number of nightclubs and discos, and they stay open until the sun starts rising again.

Locals love spending evenings (and nights) outside, especially during the weekend. So lately there is something called juernes (a contraction of jueves and viernes), an outing that starts on Thursday and lasts well into Friday. Barcelona’s cinemas are usually full at the weekends, despite the many movies that are broadcasted on TV.

Theatre, on the other hand, is also an important cultural tradition in Barcelona. Avinguda Paral.lel is Barcelona’s Broadway and a variety of shows are scheduled here.

Other leisure options in the Catalan capital are gambling venues, like casinos and bingo halls. The latter is very popular with many people of different ages. And although the origin of bingo is unknown, it is believed that Italy is the country where it first appeared.

It quickly became popular throughout the rest of Europe, with France being one of the countries where it was most popular. This is where today’s bingo game was developed: a bingo card with numbers, chips and numbers being called out loud. The game was initially for the wealthier class, but over the years it has become an interesting game for everyone.

The rules of bingo are quite simple: everyone that participates in the game has a card with different numbers on it, and then one person starts calling out randomly picked numbers, one after another. Once you have crossed out all the numbers on your card, you yell “bingo” and you are the winner of that round.

There are many bingo halls in Barcelona if you enjoy this type of entertainment, just choose the one you like best.
