A great place to visit in Barcelona is the Montjuïc Hill where you can find the Catalan Museum of Archaeology and the Joan Miró Foundation.

The Museum of Archaeology features pieces of history that were found in the city grounds over time. For 4,50€ you will be able to see the evolution of time and space, from a prehistoric era until the beginning of the middle ages.

The Miró Foundation was created by the artist himself with the purpose of gathering his works in an internationally-recognized space, offering contemporary art scholarships, and promoting research.Upon its creation in 1975, the Foundation featured only works by Miró. With time, the center started displaying works by contemporary artists as well.

With over 4000 works in display, the Picasso Museum features a permanent collection of the artist’s pieces, The price of admission is 11,50€ for the collection and temporary exhibits.

Cam Framis is one of the museums by Vilas Casas Foundation. It is a venue that features a permanent collection of contemporary paintings. Relatively recent, the museum opened its doors in 2009 and showcasing over 300 works by artists from or living in Catalonia. The name of the foundation comes from the original building, a factory owned by the Framis family.
The price of admission to the museum is 5€.

We finish this small tour with the Antoni Tàpies Foundation. Antoni Tàpies was a plastic artist whose works represented the political life in Spain while under Franco regime. Tàpies reproduced his view of the reality in paintings, sculpture, drawings, engravings and books, all made with a free exploration of materials like metal sheets or bronze.
