Winner of two Edison Wards, this band from the Netherlands recorded a song entitled “Barcelona” as part of their album “Omarm”.

We’re from Barcelona and Barcelona Loves you by I’m from Barcelona

Flutes, trumpets, banjos and kazoos, everything goes in the music created by this Swedish band formed by a whopping 28 members. Not only are they called “I’m from Barcelona”, but they recorded two songs whose titles contain the name of the city.

USA/USSR was the name of the album singer-songwriter Yves Simon released in 1983, containing a song called “Barcelona”.

Barcelona by George Ezra

22-year-old George Ezra also released a song with the title “Barcelona”. But it was “Budapest” that made him the famous singer he is today, being nominated for song of the year by the BBC Music Awards in 2014 and best single by the Brit Awards n 2015.

Barcelona by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé

A lot of people may not know this, but Queen’s lead singer Freddie Mercury was a big fan of Opera. One of his favorite Opera singers was Montserrat Caballé who in 1986 invited Mercury to co-create and sing a song for the 1992 Olympic Games. “Barcelona” was played for the first time in 1987 during the Ibiza Festival in club Ku.
