Poblenou is one of the ten neighborhoods that form the district of Sant Martì. This neighborhood, whose name in English means “New Town” used to be an industrial area, filled with mills and factories, being known as the Catalan Manchester.
Today, Poblenou is mainly a residential area inhabited by a lot of families. The neighborhood is an enviable and sought-after location, due to its proximity to the sea, its quiet, peaceful streets, and the short distance to the center.

El Tio Che is possibly the most famous horchateria in all of Barcelona. In business for over 100 years, El Tio Che attracts dozens of customers each day, that come to Poblenou for their legendary horchata (tigernut milk) and ice creams, forming large lines in front of the establishment.
El Tío Che is located at Rambla del Poblenou 44-46.

Located right next to the beach, Parc de Poblenou is a beautiful green area where people go for walks, picnics, and sports. The park is a famous spot for dog owners to meet and let their furry friends run loose, playing and exercising.
Poblenou has a pleasant, peaceful beach where visitors can enjoy the sun and a cool drink at the chiringuito that is assembled during the summer months. There is also an exercise area with machines that people can use for free.
L’Aliança de Poblenou is a cultural center that opened its doors in 1944. The center receives a series of plays, concerts and cultural events, having even hosted the 2009 Eurovisión gala.
