Best Nudist Beach on the Costa Brava

Do you sometimes feel like it’s a hassle to have to wear clothes? Do you feel somehow liberated when you take them off for taking a shower or going to sleep? Some people do. Some people even turn it into a lifestyle, which is called nudism.

Also known as naturismnudism promotes closeness to nature and reflects ideals of freedom. And what better time and place to be naked than on the beach, when the weather starts warming up?

While Spain is not exactly big on nudism, it is big on tourism – and since so many nudist foreigners come for the beautiful beaches of Costa Brava, it’s only natural that the offer meets the demand.

Here are some of the best beaches in Costa Brava where it’s fine to take your clothes off and be one with nature.

Where are the best nude beaches in Catalonia?

Platja Del Castell

One of the better-preserved stretches of sand in the region, mostly untouched by the tourism industry, it’s fitting that this place looks like paradise, because in it, you can wear exactly the same outfit that Adam and Eve did: none.

Surrounded by trees and protected by high rocks, it’s the perfect place to embrace nature and enjoy the freedom of nudity in peace.

Cala Nanas

Located in the north of Cap de Creus, this beach looks like it came straight out of a dream. Amongst the wilderness and blessed by the soothing absence of artificial sounds, it allows you to simply feel. If you choose to go there, don’t forget to visit its beautiful lighthouse.

Cala Estreta

The Baix Empordà region also welcomes nudists, in this series of gorgeous coves that will take your breath away. Since motorized vehicles are banned in the summer, you might have to take a bit of a trek to get there from Platja de Castell, but trust us – it’s well worth it.

Plus, you will get to appreciate even more of the incredible nature that surrounds you in this area.

Of course, the lack of visitors also means that there are pretty much no commercial establishments around, but pack a few sandwiches and water bottles and you should be good to go.
