24-Hour Stores in Barcelona

Back in the day, it was certainly true that the early bird got the worm. But in the globalized world we live in today, the time schedules of individuals can be very relative.

With the advent of technology and the generalization of internet access, it’s very common for people to sleep all day and be awake all night.

Of course, this already happened before for work-related reasons, but it’s incredibly common now, particularly amongst young people.

Where to find 24-hour stores in Barcelona

One of the disadvantages of this “alternative” lifestyle is that most of the world still functions from dawn to dusk. This means that if you’re a night-hawk, you’re awake while the city is asleep, which prevents your access to services and goods.

Luckily for you, being the modern hub it is, Barcelona is keeping up with the times – both society’s and yours – and currently offers plenty of 24-hour stores where you can get what you need at any hour, day or night.

Supermercat Coaliment is a convenience store chain with different locations throughout the city, and some of them are open during every single one of the 8760 hours of the year. Amongst other things, it has bakery products, appetizers, snacks and quick meals.

Perfect for when you crash on the couch in the middle of the afternoon and then find yourself hungry and fully awake in the middle of the night.

McDonald’s has a 24-hour drive-through store located at the Olympic Village in Poblenou (Parc de Mar, Carrer Jaime Vicens Vives, 2). The obvious disadvantage here is that you need a car to go there after midnight, but if you do, it’s a great option to have.

Who has never craved a tasty burger and some fries at weird times? It makes for the perfect self-reward if you’re studying all night for an exam, for instance.

Peixos Ricard is a 24-hour fish market in Sant Martí (Carrer de València, 602). If you ever find yourself in need of iron or omega-3 in the middle of the night, don’t worry.

The vending machine at its door will have everything you need to cook a delicious fish dish at 4 in the morning.
