Most inspiring spots in Barcelona for outdoor yoga

Life gets so busy sometimes that it can be difficult to stop and remember to take time for yourself and relax. Everyone has their own preferred method to help them unwind, such as exercise, hanging out with friends, or taking some quiet time to chill out. A great way to clear the mind and move the body is yoga, a practice that many claim helps them to mentally and physically keep calm, de-stress, and stay healthy. Discover some of the best spots in Barcelona where you can roll out your mat and practice yoga in the fresh air.

The beach

Barcelona has 5 km of coastline and some of the beast beaches around, so take advantage of the beautiful Mediterranean climate and enjoy yoga on the beach. Go in the early morning hours or later around sunset to beat the crowds and noise and find a space on the sand where you have room to stretch out, disconnect, and focus on your practice. If you want to join others on the beach, there is a Meetup that takes place on the Barceloneta beach in front of The Box surf shop. To participate, you have to make a small donation per class, with the proceeds going to Helping Hands India. Not only do you benefit from a great yoga session on the beach but you also get to help a great cause!

Parc de la Ciutadella

Ciutadella is one of Barcelona’s most famous and iconic parks, so it’s no surprise that many yogis like to make this their go-to outdoor yoga spot. The vast, leafy trees provide shade and fresh air and there is also plenty of sunshine to bask in, if that is what you prefer. Timing is key as the park fills up pretty quickly during the daytime so if you’re looking for a peaceful experience it’s best to go early in the morning. Ciutadella is a great place to get in touch with nature and feel connected to Mother Earth. Click here to join a Meetup that practices yoga and Pilates in the park.
