One of the newest universities in Spain, Universitat Pompeu Fabra was founded in 1990, inspired by the principles of justice, equality, freedom, democracy, independence, and plurality. The university was named after a Catalan philologist by the name of Pompeu Fabra. UPF is considered to be one of the best 200 universities in the world, according to Times Higher Education.

Pompeu Fabra’s faculty consists of more than 100 professionals, some of which are famous directors, philosophers, journalists, poets, and economists.
The university has three different campuses: one in Ciutadella, dedicated to Social Sciences and Humanities, one in Poblenou, dedicated to ITC and Communication Sciences, and one in Barceloneta, dedicated to Health and Sciences.

The university promotes the use of Catalan as its main language, but also offers classes in Spanish.
