The beautiful city of Barcelona is filled with so many things to see and experience during the day. However, I recommend you saving some energy to participate in the cities after-hours activities. Barcelona is notorious for its nightlife. Well, with it having some of the most renowned beach clubs, bars and pubs in Europe. It’s easy to move here and begin creating a nightlife routine.

It’s Friday night you pre-drink at home or the pub downstairs, head to the club, drink more and get home at 6 a.m., sleep until 2 pm and repeat again on Saturday, and maybe on Sunday.  By Monday, you do not want to look at your bank statement because you know you have gone overboard. You dread the thought of having to do this again next weekend, but you know it is inevitable because you are in Barcelona. We only live once, right?

So how do you keep having fun without getting labeled the party pooper or breaking the bank? I introduce to you Le Cyrano

How it works

Le Cyrano is a bar that allows you to pour your own drinks for 3€ – 7 €— yes you that read correctly. You walk up to bartender and order what you want. He then serves you a cup with ice, brings you the liquor you chose and hands it to you. You then pour as much liquor as you want (be reasonable), and then he hands you a mixer. And violà you have a drink in hand a fun night awaits.

About the bar

Le Cyrano is owned by Teresa, better known as Mama Cyrano, and Alberto. It is open to the public from Thursday to Saturday from 10:30 pm to 2:30 am. I recommend you arrive right when it opens, the latest 11 pm, as it tends to get very crowded quickly. It is located on Aribau 154. You can get there via the metro stop Diagonal on L5 or Provença FGC. Yelp reviewers give it four stars. The ambience is filled with lively groups of people. It is what you can expect when you mix inexpensive drinks with people pouring them. On the other hand, expect the owners not to accept any nonsense. If you are rude, obnoxious or overly intoxicated do not be surprised when you suddenly find yourself escorted out. No worries there is plenty of popcorn to help sober you up.

All in all, it is a great location to pre-game with a group of friends without you breaking the bank. You cannot leave Barcelona without giving this bar a try!
