As you walk around Barcelona you may be surprised by all the specialty shops! Everything from fruit shops and bakeries to the most diverse repair shops! In many western countries, repair shops have vanished as consumer products have become more disposable and the quality of the materials has decreased. However, if you think about it, the idea of getting something repaired is far more eco-friendly and often results in a longer lasting product. In this post you’ll find a few options to choose from that could save you money and help protect our planet.

In the 21st century, it seems like our electronics are the most important parts of our lives. Chances are that you’ve accidentally dropped your electronics, perhaps spilled water on them, or had software bugs.

These stores will also help you repair your computer, camera, and other electronics. Another service that you may be interested in is shoe repair. This is ideal for leather-based goods and dress shoes. A replacement of your shoe heels will cost you around 20€. Go to El Sabater de la Vila for an excellent service performed by the experienced staff of this 90-year old business. The store is located at Carrer del Penedès, 12, in the neighborhood of Gràcia.

Lavalocker is another useful service you can find in the city, offering an ingenious solution to people’s clothing problems. They are mainly a laundry service that uses lockers where people can drop off their clothing items and collect them good as new. If the item that needs repairing is a musical instrumentSax On can give you a  hand. The store has been in business for 15 years and has dealt with a large variety of instruments that needed mending. Sax On is located at Carrer Bolivar, 35, close to the Vallcarca metro station.
