Cerveseria Catalana is the place to go if you are after traditional Catalan tapas. This larger, more open plan restaurant is in keeping with its modern location without losing any of its traditional Catalan charm. Whether you order meat, seafood or vegetables, all of their dishes come in a traditional Catalan style – unless stated otherwise. It is also remarkably cheap considering the area and the quality of food that will arrive at your table.

No review of the restaurants in Rambla de Catalunya would be complete without Windsor. This restaurant offers a more upmarket experience, marking it perfect for special occasion. If you just want to grab a bite, this place might not be for you. Having said that, when that special occasion does come, it is most definitely worth a visit. The food is perfectly prepared by chefs who pride themselves in updating traditional Catalan recipes. The restaurant itself is light and open, with plants and trees in the courtyard giving it a natural and colourful feel.
El Raco is down on the southern end of the street and is a much more casual spot. This Italian restaurant is the place to go if you are after pizzas, pastas and a relaxing lunch or dinner in the area. It’s a large restaurant with many outdoor seats. Thanks to its lovely heaters, you can have a glass of wine or a gin&tonic whilst watching the world go by any time of year.

König Barcelona Centre is a very modern bar and restaurant right next to Plaza de Catalunya. It offers a huge range of foods, from tapas, to sandwiches, to burgers and salads. If you don’t know yet what you fancy for lunch, this place will help you make up your mind. Its huge range of international beers makes König a rather unique spot in Barcelona. From dark German ales, to the Mexican “tequila-beer” Desperado, you can have a pint from every corner of the world.
