Rock n Roll Barcelona

Barcelona has a long love affair with rock music and the city provides plenty for those seeking killer riffs. Here are our top picks for your Barcelona rock and roll fix.

Where to eat (and rock)

If you like your tapas with a side of rock music, head down to bar Ramon in Sant Antoni. Great, reasonably priced tapas (all the usual suspects made with good ingredients) and a rock and blues soundtrack picked by owners and music lovers David and Yolanda.

Where to drink (and rock)

Bar Mercaders in Born is a cracking rock bar – a loving homage to the best of all genres. Expect a range of clientele all united by their love of good rock and good times.

For a proper dive bar, head to Bollocks Bar in the Gotic. Graffitied, dingy and adorned with a suspended motorbike, this place is the real deal. A blaring soundtrack from the likes of Guns n Roses and Iron Maiden and the fact free popcorn is handed out all night make this place hard to beat.

Best for late night

For live music, head to Koitton Club for upcoming talent and Apolo for bigger name bands. To continue rocking after Apolo, Psycho bar is a great place to drink with a rock n roll crowd – you may even spot the band you’ve just seen enjoying a post-gig drink or two.

Finally, if you long for a bit of ‘Madchester’ magic, head down to Manchester Bar. What sounds like a bound-to-be-awful themed bar is in fact a damn cool homage to the best of the Manchester rock and roll scene.

Rock on Barcelona.
