Sardinuka could be called an arts incubator and although they don’t seem to use the term they certainly do their best to provide artists of Barcelona with the business skills necessary to be successful in their marketplace. This is what an incubator often does; provide start-ups and small businesses (artists in this case) with a space to use to grow their business as well as offer experienced professionals as resources to give advice and guidance on how to succeed.

Sardinuka is no can of sardines, well not technically… rather it is an art gallery and a creative and artistic production space created to give limelight and visibility to local artists. Sardinuka is highly passionate about producing the entire creative story of its artists right from the idea, the creative process through to the exhibition. Their skills lie in communicating, narrating and bringing art to life in the beautiful space located at Plaça Narcis Oller 6 · 08006 · Barcelona.

Kilomba is the artist who manages this can of sardines and encourages all artists to experiment and take risks in their creative journey. Mireia is the communication expert in charge of tidying up their ideas and experimentation in order to create a coherent narrative about each artist and their work.

A multidisciplinary creative space

Sardinuka is a multidisciplinary creative space that works for the promotion of cultural activities and of artists through three areas:

  1. The studio space: a designated area for artists in residence, artistic advice, and the opportunity to exhibit their work in the gallery space
  2. Project development: the Sardinuka team develops creative projects for brands that want to interact with their audience through art
  3. Art gallery: a designated space for the exhibition of works

The following services are also offered:

  • Graphic design
  • Web design
  • Communication Media (Newspapers, Radio, TV, Digital)
  • Communication in Social Networks
  • Public relations

It sounds like there’s a full-service communications agency at your fingertips!

According to Sardinuka if you are an artist based in Barcelona, “The important thing is to come visit and jump into the can!” If you’re on Instagram you can check them out here.
