A comprehensive guide to Barcelona’s shopping malls

If you are visiting Barcelona and your wallet can allow it, we encourage you to go on a shopping spree. The city has hundreds of excellent stores that sell products by national and international brands, with prices that can fit any type of budget.

If you would like to shop and visit the city at the same time, take a look at some of the best streets to shop in Barcelona. If you prefer to focus solely on shopping and being able to find a larger variety of stores under one roof, then pay a visit to one of Barcelona’s shopping malls.

Pedralbes Centre

Located in the district of Les Corts, Pedralbes Centre has been in business for over 20 years. The mall presents itself as an alternative fashion center with nearly 50 stores that cater to the needs of an eclectic crowd of visitors.

Pedralbes Centre is located at Avinguda Diagonal 606-615 and is open from Monday to Saturday between 10 am and 9 pm.

Arenas

Arenas is a unique-looking shopping mall designed by Richard Rodgers. The building was one of the most famous bullfighting rings in Barcelona, having been converted into a mall after bullfighting was banned in the city.

At Arenas, you will find stores like Bijou Brigitte, Desigual, Equivalenza, Mango, United Colors of Benetton and Superdry. The mall also has its own movie theatre, an exhibition center and a restaurant lounge with a terrace which offers a 360º view of Barcelona.

Arenas is located at Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes 373-385 and is open from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm. The restaurants and the movie theatre remain open until 12:30 am.

Maremagnum

The island-like mall Maremagnum is one of the most popular malls in Barcelona. One of the reasons for its popularity is the fact that it is located very close to Las Ramblas, making it the most central mall in the city, and the other reason is the fact that it is the only mall to remain open on Sundays.

Maremagnum has most of the popular Spanish brands like Stradivarius, Bershka and H&M, also offering food and entertainment.

Maremagnum is located at Moll d’Espanya 5 and is open from Monday to Sunday from 11 am to 3 am.

Diagonal Mar

Diagonal Mar is one of the malls in Barcelona with the most complete offer in shopping, food, and entertainment. The mall has a variety of clothing stores including Primark, an extremely popular store due its low prices, entertainment stores like Fnac, Media Markt and Miró, a movie theatre, a game arcade, a hypermarket, and a large number of restaurants.

Diagonal Mar is located at Avinguda Diagonal 3 and is open from 10 am to 10 pm. The restaurants, movie theatre, and game arcade remain open until 3 am.

L’Illa

L’Illa is one of the largest malls in Barcelona housing over one hundred stores. This is the ideal mall to visit if you are looking to buy clothes from brands other than the ones you would usually find in the center. Yes, you will find Mango, Oysho and Zara here, but you will also find stores by smaller brands that offer something a little different.

L’Illa offers several gastronomic choices that include Brunch & Cake, Buenas Migas, Petit Grill and Terraza Central Café.

L’Illa is located at Avinguda Diagonal 557 and is open from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 9:30 pm.
