Best sushi in Gótico

Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter is the most touristic areas of the city where you can find a number of restaurants, bars, nightclubs of all sorts! Prices are often high in this neighborhood, which is why you will only meet English, Dutch and German people sitting next to you… Yet it is a perfect spot for a stroll through the winding streets to access the Gothic architecture.

ShBarcelona has selected three addresses for a great sushi dinner in the neighborhood.

Temaki-Ya serves some of the best sushi in Barcelona! However, this little restaurant in Gótico has some flaws. It is tiny and works on self-service, so it does not fit all occasions. You can’t go in big groups or in the evening for dinner because the atmosphere is not that friendly. This also means that you order at the counter and you have to get up to pick up your order as the chef makes it. However, this is a perfect restaurant to order take-out or home delivery with Deliveroo.

Matsuri

This is known to be the best sushi restaurant in all of Barcelona. Head-chef Edo Komori, who has both Chinese and Brazilian blood, has gained his experience in London, New York, Miami, São Paulo and now produces a creative and healthy cuisine in Barcelona. The staff is at your service, the chef speaks many foreign languages and receives you as if you are his favorite customers, every time you visit. Although sushi is the star of the menu, this restaurant offers much more than raw fish. Be prepared to pay at least forty euros per person for your premium quality sushi.

Tomo, the chef, has chosen Barcelona as his new home after leaving his native Japan to travel the world. After working in several restaurants, he decided to open his own business. This is a small canteen of 8 tables, where the fridge takes all the space. In order to really enjoy your meal, take your sushi to go or have it delivered. Rare and notable: the shrimp sushi is made from fresh shrimp! In short: a great restaurant with an inimitable quality/price for the most touristic area of the city!
