Escola Luthier de Musica & Dansa

One dance studio in Barcelona that is completely dedicated to tap dancing is Escola Luthier de Dansa, teaching tap since 2011. Luthier was established as a music school in 1979. The tap program was developed by two awarded dancers and since then has flourished. The tap program runs for nine months and is aimed at students who already have the skills and drive to take their dancing to the professional level. If you are a tap dancer and want to train harder and improve more, then Escola Luthier is just the place for you.

Jimmy Slyde Institute

Jimmy Slyde was a very famous professional tap dancer back in the day and for that the Jimmy Slyde Institute in Barcelona is named after him. The school is run by Roxane Butterfly, a protegee of Jimmy Slyde, who has performed tap all around the world and since then has settled in Barcelona to share her love for dance with the world. At Jimmy Slyde you will learn more than just technique, you will learn about the history, theory, and standards of tap dancing. Camut Band

Camut Band was formed by a group of tap dancers in the mid 1990s and since then have been performing regularly in Barcelona. They offer workshops, classes, and intensives for all levels, so if you’re a beginner this is a good place to start. You can take a class with a group or sign up for private classes if you want a bit more personal attention and instruction. Slam Dancing Studio

Slam Dancing Studio offers tap classes for all ages, including adults and children. What’s more, classes for children can even be taught in English, as a cool way to introduce kids to the language or for kids of expats to learn tap in another language.
