Tapas Cooking Classes in Barcelona

If you know anything about Spanish cuisine you already know about the existence of tapas. These bite-sized treats are hugely popular both among locals and visitors because it allows them to experience many different tastes in one meal or simply to have a nice, Spanish-tasting snack any time of the day.

Where to find the best cooking classes in Barcelona

Barcelona Cooking

Barcelona Cooking is a cooking school which was created by three Galician friends named Tony, Candido and Emma, who decided to gather to share their passion for cooking and Spanish cuisine with others.

The company opened its doors in 2011 and since then, they have been teaching people from all over the world how to prepare some delicious dishes and taking them on wonderful gastronomic tours.

Barcelona Cooking offers two different tapas classes. Catalan Tapas & Wine Class and La Boqueria, is a four-hours class which includes a tour of La Boqueria, and a wine and tapas pairing (with tapas you will help prepare).

The La Boqueria Cooking Class, which is taught in English, costs 78€ for adults and 39€ for children.

The second tapas class the company has to offer is the Classic Tapas Class, which focuses only on the preparation of tapas. This class is also taught in English, it lasts three hours and it costs 65€ for adults and 32.50€ for children.

BCN Kitchen

BCN Kitchen offers a wide variety of cooking classes and food-related events right in the heart of Barcelona. They have three different areas where their activities take place: El Born, La Boqueria, and El Taller. 

BCN Kitchen offers one class related to the preparation of tapas called Tapas y Pintxos Creativos in which participants will learn how to prepare these staples of the Spanish cuisine but with a modern twist.

You will learn how to cook a beet and prawn gazpacho; Mató cheese, sardines and plantain layers; broken eggs with mushrooms and crunchy rocket; pork marinated with sherry and smoked paprika with two textures of yucca; and coconut cake with orange, coconut ice cream and curry crumble.

The Tapas y Pintxos Creativos class is taught in Spanish and it costs 50€ per person. The class lasts three hours and it ends with a nice meal accompanied by a good glass of wine.

Cook&Taste

Cook&Taste is a company that offers Mediterranean cuisine cooking classes, seminars, workshops, team-building and corporate activities for groups.

They have two modern, spacious kitchens located in the Gothic neighborhood where you can take their Hands-on Cooking Class in which you will create a four-course Spanish meal prepared with seasonal ingredients.

The menus vary according to the season but usually, you will prepare two different tapas, a main dish and a dessert. These family-friendly classes are taught in English and they cost 65€ per person.

If you want to also have a tour of the Boqueria market, you can add it to your experience for 13€. Children under 16 years old have a 50% discount. Cook&Taste also offers private cooking sessions and sessions à la carte, which allows you to choose exactly what you want to learn.

Barcelona Slow Travel

Barcelona Slow Travel offers a unique way to experience the city through a number of activities that are authentic, sustainable and holistic. They offer a Tapas Cooking Experience in which you will prepare dishes using only locally sourced ingredients from organic producers.

The class, which can be taught in English, French, Spanish or Catalan, lasts four hours. The class costs 75€ per person and is open to people of all ages.

If you are a vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerant or suffer from celiac disease, contact the company and they will make the necessary adjustments for you.
