This year the Casino de Poblenou receives the 2015 edition of TEDxBarcelona Women.
For those of you who are not familiar with TED, here’s the scoop:
TED is an acronym that stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design. TED was founded 31 years ago, by the non-profit Sapling Foundation as one singular event, developing into an annual conference series in 1990.
TED, whose slogan is “Ideas Worth Spreading”, gathers each year a group of lead thinkers and doers who speak to the audience about what they are most passionate about. TED started off by giving focus to technology and design. But as the conferences grew bigger and more famous, TED started to offer talks in various cultural, scientific and academic topics.
Over the years the appeal of the TED conferences became so big, the foundation decided to create TEDx, self-organized events that gather people for a TED-like experience, allowing many countries to join in on the spirit of ideas worth spreading.
