Fruit lovers paradise in Barcelona

There is an abundance of fruit juice bars and restaurants that serve fresh juice in Barcelona.  An essential part of the Spanish breakfast is to have orange juice; therefore it’s rare to find a bar which don’t house an orange juice extractor machine.  If you feel the need for more than freshly squeezed oranges, then below are a list of bars that serve smoothies and other fresh juices in the city.

Juicy Jones Bar

1. Juicy Jones is based in El Raval.  It is a vegetarian and a juice bar.

It is a quaint little restaurant, with a highly decorated ceiling, which make you feel like you’ve drifted into an orchard.  The wooden tables and aluminum chairs highlight that the restaurant has a budget price, but with great reviews. They have a variety of Indian flavors and a wide range of choices of juices, smoothies and vegetarian meals.  It is only from 1pm to 11.30pm except on Wednesday’s when it’s closed.

Nena

2. La Nena is based in Gracia.  It is a juice bar, with smoothies and other types of hot drinks such as coffee and tea.

It is a small bar with wooden tables and chairs.  The walls are decorated with classic Spanish art and they offer free books and games for clients.  The price range is classed as moderate and they are open on average from 8.30am to 10.30pm except on Wednesdays.  They do accept credit cards and are closed mid-day on Mondays.  Gracia is a nice neighborhood in Barcelona and the bar has a fantastic atmosphere which is great if you are with small children.

Mother

3. Mother is based in El Raval and it is a juice and smoothie bar.

The price range is moderate and they are closed on Wednesdays  and Sundays.  Their opening times are from 11am – 8pm. The restaurant has a modest vegetarian menu and offer a wide rante of fresh juices and smoothies.  It is a trendy bar, which is a popular hot spot for a quiet venue to hae some great tasting smoothies.  There are wooden benches and high seated stools across the breakfast bars which run across the walls.  The walls are neutrally colored and they have fresh flowers and information about their smoothies and juices.  They are a brand name throughout Barcelona, due to the fact they bottle their own juices and smoothies.   A great little spot if you’re in need of wifi, they offer this for free.  They do accept credit cards.
