The Gandules celebrate its tenth anniversary this August

The summer sessions of outdoor cinema at the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona(CCCB) celebrate in 2012 its tenth anniversary with various not very well-known but acclaimed by critics and audiences at several international festivals movies. As usual, this edition offers totally for free the best films for all those who come early to the “Pati de les dones” (C / Montalegre number 5) to get the best sits or to lay and enjoy the movie in the “gandules”, hammocks that give its name to this essential event in your cultural agenda.

If you have to work in August and stay in the city or you are spending your holidays in Barcelona, do not miss these emblematic sessions from August the 7th until the end of the month, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10pm. Enjoy a cold beer while watching “Rent-a-cat” by Naoko Ogigami, “The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jane” by Marie Losier, or “Bullhead” by Michael R. Roskam. The last session on August the 24th has been selected by the audience votation, and the “winning” film has been “El ángel exterminador” by Luis Buñuel. Check out the detailed program by clicking this link. An excellent alternative to the commercial billboard and the rise of ticket prices in all the Spanish cinemas! The curators of the tenth edition of Gandules ’12 are Angel Quintana, Núria Vidal, Jordi Costa, Eulàlia Iglesias, Carlos Losilla, Gonzalo de Pedro, Fran Gayo, Jaime Pena and Diaz Alejandro Castano. All them are a cinematography experts committee that have focused on selecting the best features that people can hardly enjoy as they are on less commercial circuits. We assume that due to the celebration of its tenth anniversary they haven’t included the usual classic films on its programming. This gives to the 2012 edition of Gandules a fresher and daring mood that will appeal to all kind of audiences. If you want to enjoy the excellent programming of Gandules ’12, do it while staying at one of our apartments in Barcelona. All the information you need you will find it here.
