The music strikes back in Barcelona

Taking advantage of the momentum created by the release of the highly anticipated Star Wars EpisodeVII, The Force Awakens, Palau de la Música Catalana brings us a show entitled La Música Contraataca (The music strikes back).

For those of you who are not familiar with it (though how could you possibly not be?), Star Wars is an epic space movie franchise created by American filmmaker George Lucas. The movies depict the amazing adventures of the main characters in a different era, taking place in space. Some of the most important and most famous characters in the saga are Han Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, the wise green Jedi master.

Star Wars saga

The Star Wars saga is possibly one of the most famous movie sagas in the world, whose characters are easily recognizable by all. The saga has made billions of dollars, not only in movies but a large amount of products and even theme park attractions like Star Tours, an attraction in Disneyland, a live show called Jedi Training Academy, and Star Wars Weekends festivals.

By choosing the name The Music Strikes Back and using the image of Darth Vader and a Storm Trooper, Palau de la Música Catalana immediately caught the attention of many, who would love to experience some of the most emblematic soundtracks in the history of movies, live.

The show will not only present music from Star Wars, but also other box-office hits with John Williams’ soundtrack like Indiana Jones, Superman and Jurassic Park.

The music will be played by the Orquestra Camera Musicae, together with Cor Jove de l’Orfeó Català, directed by Salvador Brotons.

There will be two session of La Música Contraataca: the first one will happen on Thursday the 17th of December, at 8:30 pm, and the second one will happen on Sunday the 20th of December at midday, 12 am.

The show lasts about 75 minutes.

You can purchase your tickets at Palau de la Música Catalana’s official website, or directly at Palau de la Música Catalana.
