The Parlament street, the most fashionable street in Barcelona

In Barcelona there are trends in every way; on the clothing that people wear, in places to go party, in restaurants where everybody wants to get a table, even on the streets where a sector of the population or a particular activity is concentrated. In this case, ShBarcelona wants you to know more about the street that everyone talks about, where the  most innovative stores, bars and restaurants are opening, along with some entertainment proposals that attract a very large and growing amount of people. This is the Parlament street, one of those included in the “Sunday” path of lots of those who come to Sant Antoni, with an increasingly  number of essential places you should know, within the cosmopolitan atmosphere and somewhat “hipster” of this city.

To have breakfast and a good coffee

If you wake up looking forward to a good coffee and something sweet or a brunch there are certain places offering a wide range of products to satisfy your craving. Among them is the little brother of Cosmo bar-café called Café Cometa, located in Parlament 20, where they prepare an excellent coffee that you can have along with a slice of carrot cake, a natural juice or a gourmet snack. Another option is the famous Federal Café (Parlament 39), with a beautiful decoration in the three floors that it occupies, or eat a handmade donut in La Donutería, right next to the Café Cometa and try the best horchata of Barcelona at Sirvent (Parlament 56) when in season.

To have a “vermouth”

When it comes to having some tapas and a vermouth we find the most varied range of places as Sant Antoni is the neighborhood where everybody goes to do that on Sunday (or Saturday, or Monday!). In this regard we can highlight the Vinito cellar (Parlament 27) to taste the best wines of Terra Alta and Priorat, the legendary Bar Calders (Parlament 25) with a nice terrace, the Dinàmic of Bcn with the best Catalan sausages and situated in a small passage that goes out from Parlament Street in front of Calders bar, you can also visit Els Sortidors de Parlament, at number 51, with traditional decor and an excellent offer. You don’t have to choose from all of them so you can try out the vermouth, wine and tapas from several of these places for an entire morning or afternoon.

Something more to eat…

If you are still hungry and want to eat a dish or a whole menu, there are also places for you on the street and around it. In the same passage that El Dinàmic de Bcn is (Passage Pere Calders), is Lando, a restaurant with a noon and a night menu inspired in the French cuisine. Around this street you also find the well known Casa Lucio (Viladomat with Tamarit), Fàbrica Moritz, we have talked about it a lot in this blog, or Tickets, Ferran Adrià and his brother’s tapas-bar.
