All about La Torre del Sol campsite

So you’ve decided you’re going to visit Catalonia. You’re so excited about your holiday but you’ve yet to book your accommodation and you want to know what options you have.

There are lots of hotels around, lots of flats and apartments to rent, but perhaps you are an outdoors type of person who likes to fully experience the wonderful weather and nature of the place. Well, the good news is, you can! There are lots of different campsites around which can accommodate you during your stay. The most popular and famous one by far is the La Torre del Sol campsite.

Where is it?

The campsite is located about 25 kilometers south of Tarragona, on the N340, just outside the village of Mont-Roig. By car it can be easily accessed on the A7 motorway, exiting at junction 37 from the north to follow the coast road for the last 10 kilometers. It can also be accessed by train via the Mont-Roig del Camp train station, from where it is just a short walk or taxi ride away.

What’s it like?

A subtropical paradise directly on the sea” is how it’s described, and quite accurately indeed. La Torre del Sol campsite the kind of place you dream of when longing to escape. It sits right next to the beach overlooking the Mediterranean, separated only by a small wall with plants on it. The whole campsite is full of palm trees which create cool patches of shade in amongst the glistening sunshine. Each plot is generously sized, giving you the privacy you need without being completely secluded.

They accept both tents and caravans on the campsite. It’s a very large space, so there are plenty of pitches. You have three options regarding size: the 1st is the standard pitch of 70 sq m, the 2nd is the comfort pitch of 100 sq m, which has a separate place to park your vehicle, and the 3rd is the grand comfort pitch, which is the same as the comfort pitch but with its own water point and drainage system. They also offer a selection of cottages and chalets which can be rented out for up to 6 people.

Some people like the place so much that they return year in and year out. The campsite also offers the option of parking up your caravan there permanently and they will wash it regularly for you whilst ensuring its security.

Other services

The campsite also includes a multitude of bars and restaurants. There are in fact 3 bars which regularly have live music amongst other events. And if you want to party harder there is a night club too! The campsite has two restaurants, one specializing in Spanish and Catalan dishes, and the other in Italian food. And that’s not all, there are also 3 family lagoon swimming pools to enjoy as well.
